It's Never One Thing

The importance of remembering it is never one thing!

My pattern when i was sick was to focus on one method of healing, go hell for leather on it for months, not recover and then fall back into unhealthy ways.

I did this over and over again in sheer desperation to regain my health.  I would take each therapist's word that i was seeing at the time, as gospel, dedicate myself to their protocol wholeheartedly then despair when it wasn't the answer.

It took a whole load of trial and error to discover it is never one thing to come out of a long term illness like M.E, if you practice a little of each positive behaviour that will benefit your body, you will get there far quicker than the bingeing behaviour, which can leave you on a roller coaster of emotions…. It is all about taking little steps daily focusing on the good stuff and this way you can have a sustained recovery.

I can remember being elated for a couple of months when i got positive results from one method only to re-crash again, it has to be gradual and yes there will be bad days and setbacks, but these are often signs that the body is actually healing and opportunities to look at just how far you have come on your path.

I will give you an example, for three months I underwent far in fared sauna therapy, whilst sticking religiously to a protein only diet. There was great improvement in my symptoms and energy but I was still in an abusive relationship which left me in a hyper vigilant state and robbed me of my energy, so the new found level of good health could not be sustained.
Another time I worked only on the mental aspect and cleared up every issue I ever had whilst continuing to stuff my face with sugar and do no exercise.  Yes my mind was in good shape but my poor body couldn't catch up!

It's all about Balance For Sustained Recovery!
